Three Men’s Lacrosse Players Named USILA 1st Team All-American

PERRY, N.Y.- The Mercyhurst men’s lacrosse placed three players on the 2012 United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) First Team All-American. Senior Gregory Bensman, junior Brian Scheetz, and sophomore Andrew Wagner were all selected.

NCAA Semifinal Lacrosse-Dowling 7, at Mercyhurst 6-Overtime

ERIE, Pa.- The #1 Mercyhurst men’s lacrosse team fell, 7-6 in overtime, to #4 Dowling in an NCAA Semifinal Saturday afternoon at Tullio Field. Dowling now advanced to the NCAA Championship Sunday, May 27, at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, where it will take on Limestone College.

All-ECC Men’s Lacrosse

CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y.- The #1 Mercyhurst men’s lacrosse team continued to make its final season in the East Coast Conference (ECC) a memorable one, as the Lakers won three major awards and placed a league-high seven players on the first and second teams. Senior Greg Bensman was named ECC Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year, while Chris Ryan won Coach of the Year honors.

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.- The Mercyhurst men’s lacrosse team will take on Dowling in an NCAA Semfinal at Tullio Field on Saturday, May 19. The Lakers won, 7-6, at Dowling March 24.

Men’s Lacrosse- at #1 Mercyhurst 8, Molloy 5

ERIE, Pa.- The #1 Mercyhurst men’s lacrosse team beat Molloy, 8-5, Saturday at Tullio Field. The senior day victory gave the Lakers their first outright East Coast Conference (ECC) championship and marked the completion of a 13-0 regular season.
