Erie Highlight Reel LLC.

Erie Highlight Reel is the official film crew for the Erie Otters, BayHawks, RiverRats and of course Erie Big Ball. Erie Highlight Reel has also been credentialed for Pittsburgh Panthers Football and Basketball for the past three seasons and brought you coverage from one of the greatest Backyard Brawls in history. Pitt stops West Virginia’s run at the National Championship in 2007.  

Erie Highlight Reel has given back to the community by organizing the Food For Friends Food Drive in Dec. 2006 and Dec. 2007 to benefit Second Harvest Food Bank and organizing the Equipment For Kids Sports Drive to benefit the Boys and Girls Club in March 2007.  

Erie Highlight Reel has also provided local sports coverage to events in and around our region including Bob Sander’s Sports Camp, McDonald’s Classic, Kevin-John Celebrity Pro Party, Martin Luther King Basketball Showcase and the Harvest Bowl.

Erie Highlight Reel Version 1 – October 2007

This is the initial website for Erie Highlight Reel. We started out filming a few games for JRLSports and realized the potential with filming the athletes in our area. We created Erie Highlight Reel Version 1  in October 2007, it contained about 7 pages and had about 5-10 videos equalling about one hour of content.

We started out filming some high school games, and got credentialed for Pitt Panthers Football. This served as the perfect platform to get our name out into the community. Jim LeCorchick would bring us on the radio for a weekly update and WSEE did a story about the company. By the time football season ended, we found ourselves already filming basketball games and growing by the day. Once one person on the team finds the highlights, the whole team finds the highlights. It was around this time the Otters found us on JRLSports and were interested in highlights for their website.

Erie Highlight Reel Version 2 – 2008

This is the second version of our website. We were growing and becoming more popular than ever before. We were covering so many events we needed a more robust video system than we were previously using. Some of our clients needed their videos to be syndicated to their website and we needed to be able to keep each sport separately in its own video system. We decide to go with the Bright Cove Platform. This platform is widely used to deliver video content from such companies as Time Magazine, The Weather Channel, Showtime and many more.

Erie Highlight Reel Version 3 – January 2010

Here we are. Third version of the website, over 1700 sports videos from in and around our region totaling more than 50 hours of coverage.

   I remember the first radio interview with Jim, I was so happy to have 15 videos on the site. I think there was about an hour worth of coverage. Wow! Little did I know, 3 years later. Thanks to Jim LeCorchick for all his support. He has believed in Erie Highlight Reel from the start!
