ERIE, Pa. – Sophomore Lucas Kachurick (McKeesport, PA/Elizabeth Forward) and freshman Dan Simon (Harrison City, PA/Penn Trafford) were named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Men’s Diver and Swimmr of the Week, respectively.

Kachurick and Simon helped the Lions to win their sixth consecutive AMCC Championship this past weekend. Behrend took first out of four teams with a team score of 402. Kachurick repeated as the Diver of the Year after winning both the one-meter and three-meter events. He hit an NCAA qualifying score in the one-meter, while resetting his AMCC open and meet record in the preliminaries with a score of 443.75.

Simon took home five gold medals and one silver at the Championship meet. He was the individiual winner in the 100 and 200 back, while taking second in the 50 free. Simon also swam a leg on three winning relays. He took first-place finish in the 100 backstroke with an NCAA B-Cut time of 51.39, breaking three records in the process.
